Script Builder for Applications (corporate license) Publisher's Description

Script Builder is script-based framework for creating Windows applications powered by Delphi components and Active Scripting (VBScript, JavaScript, ActivePerl, ActivePython, etc). Script Builder IDE produces SB-modules - scripts and visually designed forms linked together within one hierarchically organized file (Microsoft structured storage file). This file is executed by Script Builder Runtime Engine, similar to Java.

Script Builder for Applications encapsulates this engine within one component that allows you to load SB-modules from your application and use them as macros and user form add-ons.

This component implements all interactions between your application and scripting engine:

  • calls script functions from application,
  • shows user-designed forms and dialogs,
  • gets and sets script variables from application,
  • gets and sets application variables from script,
  • calls global application objects from script,
  • launches Script Builder IDE to edit and debug script modules.

  • This approach is similar to VBA in MS Office.

If your program has COM-based object model, Script Builder for Applications is ideal solution to enhance its flexibility with user add-ons. You (or advanced user) can implement additional functionality he needs without running into your program sources and recompilation. If you don't have such object model, this solution also could be useful - you can implement some calculations and GUI elements that you consider to be customizable as SB macro module.
